Saturday 6 May 2017 Have you seen the new Wood Crate Framelits? It makes the cutest little crate that is the perfect holder for little gift cards. My upline, Manda Hill, kindly lent me some of her new products so I could prepare some samples to show my class next week. I made up these little cards and popped them in a white crate and was disappointed that as the stamped images were at the bottom they couldn't be seen! My daughter said "what about a clear panel?", and with that I rushed into my craft room to make the crate out of a window sheet! It was a perfect solution to my problem and the window sheet folded easily and stuck together well using the Fase Fuse Adhesive. These cute little images and sentiment are from the new Birthday Delivery Bundle which is the star of the Birthday Memories Suite. I coloured them in using three of the gorgeous new In-Colors - Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Le...

Global Design Project 085 | Colour Challenge
Wednesday 3 May 2017 This week's challenge at the Global Design Project is a Colour Challenge! That also means that one person is selected as a Guest Designer for the next Colour Challenge. How great would that be, getting to showcase your work amongst the "fabulousity" of the Global Design Project Team? This Colour Challenge is bitter sweet because we're choosing three of our favourite colours from the soon to be retired In-Colors but of course Stampin' Up! have another five gorgeous new colours making their debut. My pick of favourites was easy - Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe. The Dragonfly Dreams Bundle is a great set - so much versatility and I love that the dragonflies look great any colour you ink them up! I used the Sparkle embossing folder on the strip of Mint Macaron and then attached a smaller strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I tied in the s...

Hip Hip Hooray Card
Tuesday 2 May 2017 Happy Birthday TGIF! The TGIF Challenges Blog is celebrating two years of challenges and who doesn't like a party? I decided to use the Party Pop-Up Thinlits and turn it into a shaker card. I used the Sprinkles Embellishments as the filler for my shaker card and teamed it with the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Cool Treats Suite. The Vellum Cardstock has been embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. I love the subtle look this gives. Before assembling the shaker card I adhered pieces of co-ordinating cardstock to the back of the Hip Hip Hooray bubble to highlight the sprinkle cut outs. I also attached a couple of the Sprinkles Embellishments to the vellum. These embellishments are so cute! If you're looking for more celebratory cards then pop over to the TGIF blog for lots of fabulous inspiration. Now I need to get ready for my other job! Today I'm going to a res...

Swirly Thanks Card
Sunday 30 April 2017 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Global Design Project #084 | Case the Designer. This week's muse is the amazingly talented Michelle Last. Michelle is an extremely successful demonstrator and was ranked Number 3 in the Global 100 - that's out of over 50,000 demonstrators worldwide. It's such a fabulous achievement. We've just got back from a fantastic family holiday on the Gold Coast of Australia and while I was away I had time to think about how my card would look for this week's challenge. Funnily enough it doesn't look anything like it! I've used the Softly Falling embossing folder for the background, then layered up a thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits using Marina Mist cardstock - there are three of these layered on top of each other to give some depth. A double layer of dimensionals lifted the "loads of thanks" circle higher than the "swirl"...

Global Design Project 083 | Theme Challenge
Tuesday 18 April 2017 Welcome to my blog and another card creation for the Global Design Project. This week's challenge is the theme Sparkles/Bling and who doesn't love a bit of bling! The Sprinkles Embellishments in the Cool Treats Suite add a colourful sparkle to any project. They are made up of tiny sequins and pearl-like spheres and of course, co-ordinate perfectly with the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper. The monsters in the Yummy in My Tummy set are so cute (I know monsters aren't technically meant to be cute but these ones are)! I don't think they're supposed to be pink either! Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and Peekaboo Peach are the three colours I picked out of the DSP colours to colour my monster and sentiment in. The Time to Party sentiment is from the Confetti Celebration set and looks great coloured in the three colours. I used a marker to colour each word in, gave it a huff to make sure the ink...

Global Design Project 082 | Sketch Challenge
Sunday 16 April 2017 While I'm excited there's a new catalogue coming, there will be things I'll miss in the old catalogue and this DSP is one of them. This Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper is gorgeous - fresh and fun. I know there'll be lots of lovely new papers to choose from in the new Catalogue, I can hardly wait! This is the sketch for this week's Global Design Project challenge - clean and as simple as you want it to be! The strawberries have been cut from the DSP and the "thanks" is from the "Weather Together" stamp set. This set has some lovely sentiments and I love the font. And of course I had to decorate the inside! I hope you are enjoying the Easter break. Take care and I'll see you again soon.

Global Design Project 081 | Colour Challenge
Sunday 9 April 2017 Hello and welcome to my blog. My creation today is for the latest challenge at the Global Design Project blog. It's a colour challenge using the colours Night of Navy, Whisper White and a colour of your choice. A colour challenge also means there's an opportunity to be selected as a Guest Designer for the next colour challenge - how exciting would that be? This week I couldn't decide on which colour to add with the Night of Navy and Whisper White so I made tags using Tip Top Taupe and Cucumber Crush. Night of Navy and Tip Top Taupe look very classic and elegant while the Night of Navy and Cucumber Crush look more relaxed and fun! The tags are made using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch for the top and the Project Life Corner punch for the bottom. A strip of DSP along the bottom edged with Silver Glimmer Paper co-ordinates with the ribbon and enamel dots or rhinestones. The butterfly stamp is from Papillon Potpourri and the bi...

Colour INKspiration Challenge – CI06
Sunday 2 April 2017 Aren't these colours gorgeous? These would have to be my favourite colours all in one place! So I was excited to make a card using them. The gorgeous pool party paper is from the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper - I would love a whole stack of this! The dragonflies are from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and the sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set (these can be purchased as the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle saving 10%). I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and attached one of the super cute Mini Paper Clips (from the Mini Paper Clips Combo Pack) and tied a mini bow with Whisper White Baker's Twine. And the inside is simply decorated with another strip of the DSP, one dragonfly cut apart from the others and a couple of sequin from the Gold Sequin Trim. I also added a dragonfly to the envelope. And here's how I coloured the cardstock for the dragonflies - I painted Calypso Coral ink ont...

Global Design Project - CASE the Designer #GDP080
Saturday 1 April 2017 This week's challenge at Global Design Project is CASE the Designer and Louise Sharp is the designer being CASEd! Louise Sharp is AMAZING! She's talented, lovely, sincere - pretty much every nice thing you can say about anyone she's it! Oh and did I tell you I'm lucky enough to call her my friend? So the pressure was on to do justice to one of her gorgeous cards! Here's Louise's card to CASE - Louise's card are always so stylish and clean, so my aim was to do the same. This layout will definitely be added to my sketch folder. I used the Succulent Garden DSP with it's clean lines and clear colours. The cat on the chair is from the Mediterranean Moments stamp set and I coloured it in using the Watercolour Pencils and an aqua pen. The Watercolour Pencils are so easy to use and turn you into an instant artist. I added another little cat to the insert on a strip of DSP - very simple but it finishes it off. ...
