Hello again! Now my mojo's back I'm on a roll! I've been wanting to make a set of cards for ages and use my Love You Lots Hostess set. I decided this challenge would work perfectly for both! I also used a sketch challenge layout from July - it's a great idea to keep a folder of sketches on your computer so you can easily refer to them for ideas especially the ones you particularly like. The Polka Dot embossed background and the Rhinestones add lovely texture and sparkle to these cards. If you'd like to earn this super cute "Hostess only" stamp set you can host a Stampin' Up! party, and you, your friends, and family will learn new stamping techniques, project ideas, and ways to express your creativity. While you're having fun with friends at your party, remember that you're also earning hostess rewards. When your Stampin' Up! party reaches qualifying sales levels, you'll receive free Stampin' Up! rubber stamp se

Mojo Monday 470 - Sketch Challenge
Hello and thanks for stopping by it's lovely to have you here! I needed to make a card for a very dear friend who's having a birthday tomorrow (in fact I have two friends having birthdays tomorrow but I'd already made one of the cards) and as my mojo was lost I decided to use the sketch over at Mojo Monday to help me! I used my Birthday Blooms stamp set which hasn't seen the light of day for a while and the Happy Birthday is from the Party with Cake stamp set. I gold embossed the flower and water coloured it using my aqua painter then accessorised with gold embellishments! It's quite a busy sketch but I'm happy with my end result and hopefully the recipient will be too! There are quite a few challenge websites out there - I've got a list of over 20. It's a great way to try something you wouldn't necessarily, especially colour challenges, and you might just surprise yourself! Have a great week and see you back here soon - Angela

Global Design Project 058 | Sketch Challenge
Hello and welcome to my blog. It's a long weekend here so we are looking forward to some time to relax and take a breathe! Hopefully the weather will be kind, it's been all over the place lately! There is a new challenge over at the Global Design project and it's a sketch designed by the talented Teneale Williams. Due to other responsibilities and workload she has left the GDP team but hopefully she'll still have time to continue to create her gorgeous cards. It's such a great sketch with so many possibilities but I had my mum in mind when I looked at this sketch as it's her birthday tomorrow and I needed to make her a card! As aqua colours are her favourite, Pool Party was a great starting point. And it's only taken me since Monday night to finish it - it's certainly been a work in progress - adding touches to it all week! I know she'll love it - don't all us mums love our children's creations? Thanks so much for sto

Global Design Project #057 | Colour Challenge
Hello and thanks for stopping by today! I'm getting in early this week with my card for the latest challenge over at the Global Design Project blog. I love their challenges and so far haven't missed one! This week's challenge is a colour challenge using Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride. I have a secret to tell you - I don't like Rich Razzleberry! The girls in our team will laugh and say it's not a secret! But when I was making this card I did think maybe it's not that bad! I stamped the hearts from the Weather Together stamp set in Versamark on the Mint Macaron and then added a piece of patterned Blushing Bride DSP from the Playful Palette stack. The umbrella was stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, cut out using the Umbrella Weather framelits then coloured in using the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Pad and an Aqua Painter. I used my Bone Folder to slightly curve the umbrella, po

I'm Back!
After a little sojourn over at Wordpress I'm back on Blogger. Some changes are on the way with the help of the talented and gorgeous Louise Sharp so stay tuned! But in the meantime here's my card for this week's Global Design Project #056 | Case the Designer - Bibi Cameron. And here's Bibi's card used as inspiration - isn't it gorgeous? I struggled with this, her card is so lovely I couldn't think of what to do - I even took the stamp set in the car so I could look at it and that miraculously I would get some inspiration! It was talking to my new friend, Louise, who passed on some valuable advice she had once received "keep it simple and don't over-think it"! Sorry this is so short and sweet but I've got a few jobs to do and not much time. See you back here again soon - Angela x
