BE INSPIRED | STAMPING TECHNIQUES YOU'LL USE FOREVER

The Be Inspired Design Team is hopping today, and our theme this month is "Stamping Techniques You'll Use Forever"! I can’t wait to see the creative ideas the rest of the team has come up with. Make sure to hop around and check out all the inspiring projects shared by this talented group.

I’ve chosen a stamping technique I come back to time and time again: heat embossing, especially in gold.

There’s something about gold embossing that instantly elevates a project. It adds shine, detail, and a beautiful crisp finish that you just can’t achieve with ink alone. For me, it’s one of those go-to techniques when I want a card to feel a little bit special without making it complicated.

On this card, I’ve used gold heat embossing to highlight the stamped images from the Notes of Spring Stamp Set. This stamp set is Stampin' Up!'s "Product of the Month". The fine detail really comes through, and the metallic finish catches the light in such a lovely way. It pairs beautifully with softer colours and simple layers, allowing the embossing to be the feature without overwhelming the design.

One of the things I love most about heat embossing is its reliability. Once you have the basics—VersaMark ink, embossing powder, and a heat tool, it’s easy to get consistent, professional-looking results every time. It’s also incredibly versatile, whether you’re embossing sentiments, backgrounds, or detailed images like I’ve done here.

If you haven’t reached for your embossing powders in a while, I highly recommend giving them another go—especially gold. It’s a technique that never dates and always adds that extra touch of magic.

You can also watch the full video tutorial here if you prefer to follow along visually.

Thank you so much for joining me for this month’s hop. I hope you feel inspired to bring a little gold embossing into your crafting.

Next up in today's hop is my lovely and inspirational friend Annette. I'm looking forward to seeing what technique Annette has to share with us.
